Garry Winogrand

I figured it make sense to look at some of the masters of street photography. Let's start with Mr, Winogrand.

New York native, mainly active during the 1960's.

There always seems to be a sense of action in Winogrand's photographs, something moving, changing, happening. This is the sort of dynamic that is often associated with the 60's. From the work that i have seen, he has taken a fair number of photographs of women. Seeing as many of his photographs were taken in New York there seems to be a lot of geometric shapes and strong lines, when you have a city that is laid out in a grid that kind of thing will happen, Winogrand has often used this to his advantage to enhance the feeling of motion and drama within the image.
