As I may have mentioned before, for me self portraits are unexplored territory. I do not like putting my self in front of the camera. These are artists who have taken this jump that I would not (until now) do very often, if ever. These self portraits are ones that have stood out for me among the plethora of such images out there. Dali's is simple yet effective. Warhol's is crazy and slightly disorienting. Newman's is inventive, once again simple but perfect in every way. Miller's is quite possibly the best for this brief 'risk'. C'mon what is riskier than a photograph of yourself naked in Hitler's bath tub. I do love this photo.
